DGAP-News: CHG-MERIDIAN AG maintains growth trajectory in first quarter of 2014

Meldung : DGAP-News: CHG-MERIDIAN AG / Key word(s): Quarter Results CHG-MERIDIAN AG maintains growth trajectory in first quarter of 2014 16.05.2014 / 11:52 --------------------------------------------------------------------- - New financial year starts with strong first quarter - Growth primarily in central and western Europe and Americas - New client business booming from very start of year Weingarten, May 16, 2014 - Following record lease originations amounting to EUR1 billion in 2013, technology management company CHG-MERIDIAN continued to grow in the first quarter of 2014. The company based in Weingarten in the Baden-Württemberg region of southern Germany achieved a 28 percent year-on-year rise in lease originations, taking the total volume to EUR245 million (Q1 2013: EUR191 million). This continued strong growth in the first quarter was driven by the central Europe region (up by 33 percent to EUR125 million), the western Europe region (up by 42 percent to EUR45 million) and the Americas region (up by 31 percent to EUR47 million). By contrast, lease originations in southern Europe were only marginally higher, while they declined in eastern Europe. In Germany, where CHG-MERIDIAN continued to benefit from robust growth rates across all sectors, the company generated new leases to the value of EUR117 million in the first quarter of 2014 (Q1 2013: EUR88 million). "The first quarter of 2013 fell short of our expectations, so we don't want to overstate the strength of the business in the first three months of 2014," said Jürgen Mossakowski, CEO of CHG-MERIDIAN AG. "On the basis of these figures, however, I am confident about the rest of the year. We remain optimistic that we will equal the record results we achieved last year, or even slightly improve on them." Mossakowski sees the fact that around a third of new leases were originated from new customers as affirmation of the company's business model, which encompasses customer advice, the replacement and resale of IT devices, finance for new technology, and technology portfolio management. "Our services are obviously continuing to attract plenty of new companies all over the world, and we are not just doing business with existing clients. This is an important prerequisite if you want to grow," said Mossakowski. The technology specialist in IT, industry and healthcare equipment has a global presence with 34 sites in 19 countries and it is currently expanding its headquarters in Weingarten in order to keep pace with its growth. Space is being created to take on more people in a new building which is expected to be completed by the end of 2015. In addition, the company's operations in the healthcare technology sector in Germany have now been brought together in CHG-MERIDIAN Mobilien GmbH, one of the group's subsidiaries. CHG-MERIDIAN has gradually been preparing to enter the healthcare technology field since mid-2013 and from now on its technology portfolio will include high-quality medical devices and equipment.
